Minstrel

Background

It is said that members of this class will share a song from deep in their hearts to all in their Realm, while those from other Realms get a lute to the head! Minstrels use the power of song to aid fellow Arthurians in their travels, making the miles fall away faster and stiffening their spines during battle. The earliest Minstrels were known to wander the Realm, recording the hardships and triumphs, successes and failures, of all. Their songs spread stories of heroism among their fellow survivors, as well as stories of King Arthur himself.

Empowering Audience
Song abilities which affect enemy targets have their power increased based on the number of targets affected.

Greatly increases the power of song abilities, and reduces the effect of Fading Melody.
Song of Speed (Song)
Provides an aura that increases the movement speed of the player and nearby allies in their group. Damage taken while under the effect of this aura breaks the effect, and applies a physical debuff that prevents song effects for a brief duration.
Melody of Malady (Song)
Provides an aura that damages nearby enemies and reduces their resistance to poison and disease effects.
Harder and Faster (Technique)
Increases song ability radius and initial power, but increases the effect of Fading Melody.

Aria of Area
The user’s current song spreads across a massive range by consuming the user’s remaining blood over a moderate duration.

Death Curse Sample

Refrain of Retention
A giant lute will appear near the dying user’s head and their current song will persist beyond their death for a long duration. The lute gains additional power based on the number of wounds on members of the user’s group.

Dark Fool

Background

Dark Fools use the power of their reed pipes to confuse, mislead, and attack their enemies. They are true tricksters, using a combination of sound and magic to create illusions, deceptions, and inspiring melodies to encourage members of their Realm. Their pranks and practical jokes have a very dark side, and their mind-affecting powers make the Dark Fools feared across the world.

Rueful Disappointment
The death of nearby enemies inflicts a mind debuff on the user that drains blood and stamina over time.
Self Sufficiency
The power of healing and cure effects on the user from outside sources are greatly reduced.

Boon Samples

Precarious Balance
When the user inflicts a wound on an enemy, they cure one of their own wounds to the same body part.
Indulgent Bereavement
When one of the user’s group members dies, the user gains a mind buff that greatly increases the power of their next song.

Deceptive Siphon (Song)
Drains health from nearby enemies with more total remaining health than the user and distributes it between the user and their nearby group members.
Mischievous Haste (Song)
Provides an aura that gradually increases in power up to a maximum amount. The aura increases the movement speed of the player and nearby allies in their group. On reaching its maximum power, the aura also grants a mind buff that removes the aura effect and reduces blood and stamina costs for a brief duration after the next ability activation. Damage taken from all sources while under the effect of this aura is greatly increased.
Expulsive Laugh (Shout)
Purges a high amount of power from a physical buff from each nearby enemy and increases the panic rating of targets affected.
Trick of Blood (Shout)
Grants the user’s group members a death buff that increases damage against bleeding targets. This effect also restores blood to the user when dealing damage to bleeding enemies.

Divine Intervention Sample

Soothing Song
Drains remaining blood from the user to provide an aura that grants immunity to panic-increasing effects and suppression of shadow and chaos effects to the user and their nearby group members.

Death Curse Sample

Terrifying Surprise
A large, ominously laughing shadow emerges from the user’s corpse and applies a shadow debuff over a large area that greatly reduces the movement speed and increases ability preparation and recovery times of enemies who have reached their maximum panic rating.

Skald

Background

Though they are musicians, Skalds do not use musical instruments to power their abilities. Instead, they rely simply upon their words, amplified with certain magical accoutrements. With their Viking training, they are also the most adept at using weapons of any of the bard-like classes in the Realms. They also grow more powerful as the battle rages, trying to keep their emotions under control…most of the time.

Instruments do not grant bonuses to song abilities.
Loss of Clarity
Wounds to the head greatly reduce the power of Shout and Song abilities when not using an instrument.

Boon Samples

Memorial Echo
The effects of song abilities remain in effect for a portion of the duration they were played after they have been stopped.
Unbreakable Tale
Disruption health for song and shout abilities is greatly increased.

Component Samples

Saga of Heroes (Song)
Provides an aura that suppresses the effects of up to one wound per body part to the user and their nearby group members. Players under this effect also survive for a brief duration after being fatally wounded before dying.
Chant of War (Song)
Provides an aura that causes nearby enemies to take bonus damage from physical sources. The amount of bonus damage escalates up to a maximum, based on total bonus damage dealt to players under this effect.
Call to Arms (Song)
Provides an aura that increases the movement speed of the user and their nearby group members. Taking damage while under the effect of this aura breaks the effect, and dealing damage while under the effect of this aura breaks the effect and grants a physical buff that increases damage with physical attacks for a moderate duration.
Legacy Strike (Style)
Deals moderate damage, and if this attack penetrates the target’s armor, increases the power of the user’s next song within a brief period of time.

Divine Intervention Sample

Glory to the Brave
The user and their nearby group members gain a temporary physical buff that reduces ability preparation and recovery time, and also increases damage with weapon abilities. The power of the buff is based on the number of nearby enemies greater than the number of group members present.

Death Curse Sample

Deafening Warcry
A stream of words escapes the user’s mouth and encircles all nearby enemies, who take high damage and are affected by a physical debuff that reduces their hearing for a moderate duration.
